Definitions 

This is the accumulation of excess fats that resulted in an increase weight gain. It is a complex disorder involving an excessive amount of body fat. This increases the risk of disease and health problems like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure etc.

Obesity is diagnosed when your body mass index (BMI) is 30 or higher

How to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI)

Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated by dividing your weight in kilogram (kg) by your height in meter (m2) squared

BMI = Weight (Kg)/Height (m2) 

BMI Range              Weight status

Below 18.5                Underweight

18.5 - 24.9                  Normal

25.0 - 29.9                  Overweight

30.0 - 34.9                  Obese (Class I)

35.0 - 39.9                  Obese (Class II)

40.0 and above         Extreme obesity (Class III)
